The Colon Cleansing Debate Lives On
My name is Peter Wood. You can read more about me here if you’d like.
You have two basic camps when it comes to colon cleansing:
The Medical Establishment
This group, way back in the 1900s, used to subscribe to colon cleansing methods almost religiously. A bit after the turn of the century, they decided that colon cleansing was now “quackery” and they stopped supporting it.
My only concern about the entrenched medical establishment is that they are very disinterested to show alternative methods to treatment because they have been indoctrinated by the large pharmaceutical companies to prescribe drugs. Drugs have their place, I’m certain, but it is disconcerting to know that doctors (to their credit) are bombarded by drug sales reps at every turn.
Alternative Medicine
Alternative medicine has embraced the idea of detoxifying your body. The basic theory:
Colon cleansing (colon therapy) encompasses a number of alternative medical therapies intended to remove fecal waste and unidentified toxins from the colon and intestinal tract.
I don’t want to enter into the debate regarding the efficacy of colon cleansing. You have hundreds of thousands of people that have used various colon cleansing products and have reported the following benefits:
- Improved regularity
- Weight loss
- Increased energy levels
- Clearer skin
- Improved concentration
- Better absorption of vitamins and minerals from foods
- Overall healthful feeling
The amount of anecdotal evidence is overwhelming.
The Purpose of Colon Cleanse Report
The area of colon cleansing and detoxification is overwhelming. The amount of information is unbelievable. It’s tough to know who to believe. My focus here at Colon Cleanse Report is not to enter into the debate of efficacy. I’m going to be evaluating the ingredients of colon cleanser products and, probably more importantly, taking a hard look at the companies that sell them, their business practices, their ethics, their marketing strategies, etc.
I’ve found some colon cleanse products that I like (highlighted at the upper left of the site) — sold by reputable companies — and I’ve found a whole slew of others that are pushed by complete con artists. My hope is to educate you, the consumer, on how this market works, and what you can expect. Hopefully in the process you can save a buck or two.
