Creating your colon cleansing recipe doesn’t have to be a difficult task. In fact there are plenty of ways to create a simple yet effective colon cleansing concoction by following a few easy tips.
First of all, there are many ingredients that are advertised in commercial colon cleanse products. Most of these products advertise as having up to 40 different natural herbs in their cleanser that make it more efficient. This may or may not be true. So when you are creating your colon cleansing recipe try to stick with well known herbs that are generally thought to yield good results. Among this list will be psyllium husks or flax seeds, which are high in fiber, and offer the bulk your colon needs to cleanse itself of any build up of waste material. Buy these seeds whole and grind them up in your coffee blender and add them to any meal.
Another more vigorous way to cleanse your colon is to use Epsom salts. Make sure that your Epsom salts are for ingesting and are not the type to be used only in the bath. Once you have them, you just mix a teaspoon with of Epsom salts with 20 ounces of water and drink it. This is a laxative that takes effect very quickly, so you will want to make sure you are at home with no plans for a few hours afterwards.
Probiotics are also frequent ingredients in both homemade and store-bought colon cleanse recipes. These natural bacteria help to increase the natural occurrence of the good bacteria that live in your digestive system and help it to flourish. You can buy these friendly bacteria over the counter in your local drug store, which comes in drops to be added to liquids or you can get them in foods such as Activia yogurt that advertize their probiotic content.
And of course there is no better way to cleanse your colon than by drinking more water. Water is a natural antioxidant. It has the ability to dilute your toxins before flushing them out. By drinking 1 ½ - 2 liters of water every day you will help to flush out your toxins on a regular basis and speed up your sluggish metabolism as well.
And if these simple changes aren’t enough you can make use of a more regimented diet tailored to cleansing your colon. In the morning, you can have an apple and a pear along with a glass of fresh pomegranate juice. This can be followed by a meal of raw salads that include tomatoes, spinach and broccoli. In the evening, you can prepare broth and chicken soup. This would help disinfect your colon and allow your digestive tract to absorb the nutrients from the food you eat in a much more efficient manner.
But do keep in mind that while making homemade recipes for colon cleansing is not difficult; you do need to exercise a bit of caution. Only use natural herbs and products well known for their effectiveness and never use a product you are uneasy about, unless you have checked it out with your doctor or natural health practitioner. And if the diet cuts out food groups for the duration of the cleanse, do not try to continue it for longer than one month at a time. While your colon needs time to recuperate, your body also needs a variety of nutrients to keep up its strength.
