The time has come to check out ColoPure. As is common with my other colon cleanse reviews, I’ll first try to give you a feel for the product itself and then dive into the company behind the product.
When I pulled up the ColoPure website I had a strange sense of deja vu. I felt as though I had seen this website already, although I was sure that I hadn’t looked up ColoPure before today. This particular image seemed especially familiar:
Remembering a snide comment that I made about another logo likely being created by a graphic designer (and not actually awarded to anyone by anyone), I went looking at my past reviews and… Bingo!
The colon cleanser Colotox used the exact same logo! Could it be that this was a generic logo found on the internet that both companies were using? Did one company take it off another’s website? Or maybe they were the same company altogether?
Intrigued, I pulled up the Colotox website and to my surprise I found the following. I’ve pasted the two websites next to each other. The one on the left is ColoPure, the one on the right is Colotox.
Wow! They are basically the same exact website! The only thing that they’ve changed is the header image, that bottle, the name of the product, and a few colors! They even use the exact same sales copy.
It’s obvious that this company is producing two different products (more on their “difference” later) under the same roof. This is common. But what get’s me is the complete and utter laziness of the company not to even create a slight variation of the two different websites to promote the product! For all intensive purposes, they are exactly the same.
But surely, they would at least be smart enough to use different testimonials right? Think again.
Granted, I don’t put much stock in testimonials (since I think the majority of the ones used on supplement sites like this are fabricated), I’m still dumbfounded that a company wouldn’t take even 5 extra minutes to write (yes, they were likely just make up) another 4 testimonials and find some new pictures. How dumb does this company think that consumers are?
**Update: It seems as though we’re starting to get the attention of some of the colon cleanse companies. After writing my review of ColoPure (and mentioning that the sites for ColoPure and Colotox were almost exactly the same), about a week later I noticed that they had changed up the Colotox website to look quite a bit different! I’m glad I still have the screen shots to show their original state.
It appears however that they still weren’t creative enough to change the sales copy, as the main blocks of text are still currently the same.
It’s good to know that the scam companies out there are taking notice. Maybe one day we’ll make a large enough impression that they’ll have to quit scamming people with the shady autoship tactics. At least one can hope.
But, surely the products are different right?
So apparently, according to them, both ColoPure and Colotox are “America’s #1 Colon Cleanser.” And I guess both ColoPure and Colotox are “the purest and most effective herbal cleansing product on the market today!” And if we were to assume the testimonials were real (which we aren’t), then both products worked equally well.
Well, as ridiculous as these statements may be, they could actually be considered true. Not true in terms of what they claim, but true in the sense that there’s really no difference between the two products at all.
The ingredients in both ColoPure and Colotox are as follows:
Both formula’s contain a mix of 800 mg of these ingredients. So what they’ve done is created one product, slapped two different labels on the bottle, copied the website, and are now trying to make you think that they are different products.
As far as the product itself goes, it looks like a pretty common mix of fiber-based ingredients that will probably do a decent job.
Not surprisingly, just like Colotox, ColoPure has the same autoship scam going on. If you don’t read the fine print, you’ll get burned. Here’s an excerpt
If you are happy with the product do nothing and your credit card will be charged an additional $38.95 approximately 21 days after your initial trial shipment. In addition, approximately 30 days after you order your risk-free trial and about every 30 days thereafter, we will automatically send you an additional 1 month supply. The credit card you provide today will be billed the low price of $39.95 plus $4.95 shipping & handling for a total of $44.90 when each new product ships.
Classic autoship scam. If you don’t call and cancel within the 21 days, you’ll start seeing charges on your credit card.
But if I cancel in time, then I’m ok right? In theory, yes. But unfortunately I’ve read many, many complaints on complaint boards online that mentioned having extreme difficulty getting someone to actually cancel the autoship. Some couldn’t even get anyone to answer the phone. Most of them got the run around without any answers at all.
Rest (un)assured that ColoPure has a money back guarantee. A whopping 14 days! (I hope you can sense my sarcasm.) I find it interesting as well that they suggest for best effectiveness, you should use it for 3 months. On top of that, if you are actually able to get a refund out of the company, they charge you a 15% restocking fee. Sounds like a pretty one sided guarantee to me.
The company behind ColoPure is called Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc. A quick search with the Better Business Bureau and you’ll find that the company got the following rating:
Ouch! An F rating! I found this explanation on the BBB website as to why the company received such a rating:
Based on BBB files, this company has an ”F” Rating with BBB due to unanswered complaints and a pattern of complaints. Complaints concern billing or collection issues and customer service issues. Complaints state that after signing up for the $1 risk-free trial, and paying shipping and handling fees, consumers are billed $38.95 for the product before the 20 day trial period ends. Additionally, complaints allege the company does not honor their cancellation policy and the terms for cancelling an order are unclear and confusing. Consumers have indicated difficulty contacting this company and experience hold times up to 75 minutes before a customer service representative can be reached.
These types of business practices are downright shameful. They deserve every bit of the F that they received.
While the product itself seems average, the company is well above average in terms of poor business practices. ColoPure poses as it’s own product, but in reality is just a quick knockoff of the company’s other product, Colotox. They use deceptive marketing with their autoship and make it very difficult to get out of it once you’re in. On top of that, the company is just plain lazy as evidenced by their copied website. Stay away from ColoPure, you’ll be glad you did.
Great advice, it's hard to find good colon cleansing advice nowadays. Thanks!
I recommend colon cleansing to all my friends and family members, not everyone will know about how many unhealthy chemicals they consume through junk food. No wonder we have so many health issues nowadays.

Very helpful tips. One thing I have learned from using colon cleansing is that you won't truly know its benefits until you try it for yourself.
