Evercleanse

I’m going to look at the Evercleanse colon cleanser today.

Evercleanse - a Basic Summary

Evercleanse is basically broken down into a three-step process:

  1. The Clean Sweep - breaks down rotten waste trapped in the colon.
  2. Replenish - sweeps away bad bacteria replenishing with friendly pathogens.
  3. Colon Support & Maintenance - a colon support formula.

Evercleanse’s nutrition facts are as follows:

You can see that the Clean Sweep formula for Evercleanse is fiber, pure and simple.  The “Probiotic blend” of the replenish formula lists the different types of bacteria that are helpful to digestion.

Who’s the Company Behind Evercleanse?

The domain evercleanse.com is registered to HindSight Nutritionals (EverCleanse) at 8605 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.  The adminstrative contact is a Douglas Davis at 888-848-2729.

Linked in has a profile for a Doug Davis, who is a partner at HindSight Nutritionals. Other than that, there isn’t much information out there at all.

Evercleanse Marketing

The Evercleanse website is very well done and professional.  They flash some people and list quotes next to the photos, so as to make it appear that the quotes are actually testimonials from those people (they’re not).

The Evercleanse testimonials are not at all verifiable.  I actually contacted Evercleanse to see if they would send me some verifiable testimonials but was unable to find any way to contact them through the website and didn’t want to speak to a customer service rep (who certainly wouldn’t be of any help at 800-940-8034).

One classic example of an implied testimonials is this:

No name.  No attribution.  And no way to verify that it actually works.

Is there an Evercleanse Moneyback Guarantee?

I searched the Evercleanse site far and wide for a moneyback guarantee and was dismayed to not find one listed anywhere.  Even a simple search for the word “guarantee” throughout the entire site yielded nothing.  Unless I hear otherwise, I don’t believe Evercleanse offers a moneyback guarantee.

The Evercleanse “Privacy” Policy is Opt-OUT!

Something I found rather disturbing when combing through the Evercleanse privacy policy:

From time to time, we make the e-mail addresses of those who access our site available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting. If you do not want us to share your e-mail address with other companies or organizations, please let us know by visiting us at www.safelyremovename.com.

That type of privacy policy may have worked a decade ago, but in this day and age, you don’t share information with “reputable organizations” unless a customer or user expressly gives their permission.  It appears that the internet marketing of Evercleanse is handled by a company called Digital Target Marketing, and Digital Target Marketing likely sells the information to proviaders of thosee services they “think you might find interesting.”

Evercleanse Pricing

Evercleanse offers a two-week supply for $59.95+$10.95 S&H (so $71 basically).  OR for $99.99 you get a one-month supply + 2 weeks.  You obviously can see very quickly from the pricing that their second option is the quintissential marketer’s “super size me” approach.  You get 200% more product for less than 50% additional cost.  Evercleanse obviously has a great margin on their product, so if they can make a GREAT profit on the two-week supply and then get you to upgrade to the one-month supply and make an EXCELLENT profit from that…they’ll do it every time.  It’s not a deal for you.

What do Others Say About Evercleanse?

If you do a simple Google search for ‘evercleanse’ you’ll see both ads and natural search results.  The top-most ad is from the company Evercleanse themselves, so we’ll skip over that one.

evercleanse advertisements

You’ll notice the second ad is a “warning”, not specifically addressing Evercleanse.  When you click on it you’re presented with a site that is telling the buyer to “beware”.  That site is then pushing Nature’s Acai Berry - Ultimate Colon Cleansing.  The site, thecoloncleansefacts.com, claims to be a “watch dog group” in the health products industry and claim they’ve spent the last six months testing over 25 different colon cleansing products online.  Apparently, they found three that worked.  Well, what they don’t say is that they’re getting a commission cut for each of the products they happened to “like”.  Read the whole introductory text:

Our company is a watch dog group in the health products industry. We heard and read many complaints about colon cleansing products over the past year, some of them being pretty upsetting. We spent the last 6 months testing over 25 different readily available colon cleansing products online. We were looking for products that produced results without being irritating. Some of the products tested required a complete lifestyle and diet change which for most people is extremely inconvenient and expensive. Other products were very irritating and caused stomach discomfort.

So…that first result is discredited.

The next ad is attempting to make you think that Evercleanse needs to be “EXPOSED” somehow.  They even call it a “dirty secret”.  Notice how they say “Ever Cleanser” instead of “Evercleanse” (they can’t say the actual name because of trademark issues).  The site is PublicHealthForums.com and, while the name makes it sound somewhat official, it’s actually far from it.  They claim:

Our company’s mission is to monitor the safety and efficacy of health care products and to share our findings with consumers. Recently, we have received a large number of complaints regarding colon cleansers, some of them very alarming. We spent the last year testing over 35 different colon cleansing products available online. We wanted to identify products that provided results without side effects. Several of the products required a major change in lifestyle and eating habits, which for most people is very inconvenient and expensive. Other products caused irritation and bothered users’ stomachs.

Do those two introductory texts sound at all similar to each other?  This is the same company capitalizing on Evercleanse’s popularity and showing ads to clearly move people to a different product.  So as not to appear too obvious, their pushing Bowtrol as their first choice (instead of the Acai Berry Ultimate Colon Cleansing product).  They get a cut if you purchase Bowtrol through their link.

If you start looking at the natural search engine rankings you’ll get a lot of the same:

evercleanse-research

The second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth rankings are all pushing an alternative product (Nuphedrine twice!).

So to be honest, we don’t really know what others are saying about Evercleanse.  Evercleanse’s testimonials are questionable, and the “reviews” we’re seeing on the internet regarding Evercleanse are certainly questionable.

What should you do?

Evercleanse Conclusion? Not Yet.

To be frank, the ingredient profile looks fine.  The company doesn’t have much of a track record at first pass, but if you dig enough…

It turns out that at least the fulfillment company behind Evercleanse has had its share of issues.  They’re called 3PL Worldwide and, according to the Better Business Bureau, they have a big fat ‘F’ rating:

Hello!  Now 3PL isn’t exactly associated only with Evercleanse.  They have a ton of different products:

The BBB doesn’t just list these as associated products, but as actual “Doing Business As” names, so it may very well be that Evercleanse and this company are virtually one in the same.  This type of thing starts to make me pretty leery.

A Final Conclusion on Evercleanse

I can’t really give it a thumbs up.  There are too many things that are a bit on the gray side with them.  If it were up to me (it’s not! It’s up to you!) I’d probably look elsewhere.  Just don’t fall for all of the fake reviews — do real research!

I believe I have waited long enough to start eating healthy and exercising. Seems like I have lots to learn.

As a promise to myself, I have decided to invest more time in my body and well-being. My life is stressful enough, living a healthy life is the least I can do for me body.
