Natural Colon Cleanse - Natural vs. Artificial Methods

Colon cleansing is hardly a new fad. In fact, this idea of the necessity to clear out built up waste material from the large intestine has been around since ancient times, with both the Egyptians and Greeks subscribing to the theory of the need for a natural colon cleanse. The method fell out of favor in later years, only to return wholeheartedly in the 20th Century. It now persists to this idea, with modern health practitioners indeed seeing a great need for undertaking detoxification methods. The major reason for this nowadays is that many people rely on a diet rich in processed foods or junk food, which can accumulate in the colon.

Another factor that leads to the need for a natural colon cleanse is the fact that so many people in today’s world live in heavily polluted urban environments. This pollution can enter our food sources and lungs alike, leading to a buildup of truly toxic sludge that is well worth removing through one of the various colon cleansing methods available on the market today. There are both natural as well as artificial cleansing methods, so it’s worth taking the time to learn about both varieties in order to choose the pathway that works best.

Some of the natural colon cleanse methods can include the use of herbal supplements, which help to flush the waste products out of the body, in a natural and gentle manner. Certain herbs have been shown to have a mild laxative effect, including tropical fruits such as the papaya or pineapple. These are nature’s ways of keeping us regular, although with the modern diet they are too often overlooked. By combining this with other detoxification substances including something as basic as cayenne pepper, the body can be flushed out quickly and efficiently.

This is in stark contrast to artificial methods, which may include chemical varieties of laxatives that lead to physical dependence. Most researchers therefore agree that a natural colon cleanse is usually a better way to go when deciding to clean out the pipes, so to speak. Artificial cleansers are far harsher for the body to process, and if the digestive system is already under stress and in need of a cleansing, this can further exacerbate the problem rather than helping. The first step is to ask for the advice of a health care professional, who can assess your personal situation and offer some recommendations as to the best cleansing procedures.
