Oxy-Powder®

Oxy-Powder® is product produced and sold by Global Healing Center (GHC).  While GHC provides a number of different cleansing products, this review will focus specifically on Oxy Powder.

First we’ll look at the product itself and then look deeper into the company behind Oxy Powder and their business practices.

What is Oxy-Powder?

Well, according to their website, “Oxy-Powder® is a scientifically formulated, all natural oxygen colon cleanser used to safely relieve the bloating, irritation and constipation associated with a toxic colon.”  Nicely put.

GHC was also kind enough in provide a snapshot of their product label (click to enlarge):

As you can see, the ingredients include:

  • Ozonated Magnesium Oxides (2746 mg)
  • Natural Citric Acid (100 mg)
  • Organic Germanium-132 (22 mg)

Oxy-Powder takes a bit of a different approach here than most other colon cleansing products.  Most other products that I’ve seen use a high dosage of fiber to flush the system out.

Oxy-Powder, however, uses mostly Ozonated Magnesium Oxides that are meant to cleanse through an oxidation reduction reaction.  The theory, from what I’ve read, is solid.  As with any kind of cleansing, you’ll find people that sit on both sides of the fence.  Some believe it, others don’t.  I’ll let you decide which side you agree with, but from what I’ve seen most of the customers are very happy with the product.

What I do like, however, is that it gives you another alternative option for cleansing in a way other than consuming a load of fiber-based ingredients.

The Oxy-Powder Website

Overall, I thought that the Oxy-Powder website was nice and professional. It was clean and actually provided a good amount of information about both the product and colon cleansing in general.

I liked that I didn’t see any warning signs of autoship scams or shady marketing.

The Magazine Endorsements

oxy-powder-magazineWhen I came across this section of the website, I thought “here we go, classic false marketing tactic.”

I usually harp on companies that put up magazine covers or news logos and then skillfully make it appear as though their product had actually been featured in them.  In reality, colon cleansing in general was mentioned somewhere in the publication, but they want you to assume otherwise.

So I was actually quite pleased to find out that Oxy-Powder actually was featured in the magazines that it showed.  And they show the proof.  If you click on a magazine, you can download a pdf that shows the page that it was featured on with the info highlighted.

My next thought was that it would simply be an ad for Oxy-Powder.  I was again surprised to see that it was actually part of the articles and didn’t look to be a paid advertisement.

The Company Behind Oxy-Powder

Oxy-Powder is produced by the company Global Healing Center (GHC).  GHC was founded in 1998 by Dr. Edward F. Group III.  My first thought was “Dr. huh?  Just what kind of doctor is he?”  It turns out that he actually has a pretty long list of accreditations.  You can see his profile here. Now I’m not saying that all this makes all the products that he sells perfect, I’m just saying that it was more than I expected to see.

I looked up GHC on the Better Business Bureau system and found the following rating:

oxy-powder-bbb

GHC has a “Satisfactory” rating.  The BBB gives this definition of a satisfactory rating:

“To have a “satisfactory BBB Rating” with BBB, a business must be in business for at least 12 months, properly and promptly address matters referred to it by BBB, and be free from an unusual volume or pattern of complaints and law enforcement action involving its marketplace conduct. In addition, BBB must have a clear understanding of the business and no concerns about its industry.”

Looks pretty good to me (especially considering that many of the companies I review get F ratings).

It also shows that they are a BBB Accredited business since 5/28/2004.  The fact that they are still accredited after 5 years of business is quite reassuring.  This explanation is given on BBB accreditation:

“If a business has been accredited by BBB, it means BBB has determined that the business meets BBB accreditation standards, which include a commitment to make a good faith effort to resolve any consumer complaints. BBB Accredited Businesses pay a fee for accreditation review/monitoring and for support of BBB services to the public.”

There was also this verification of accreditation of Global Healing Center with the BBB:

Given this information, it’s looking as though you shouldn’t have any worries when buying from this company.

Any Complaints Online?

It’s not uncommon for me to find dozens of complaints within 60 seconds of a quick Google search when I’m looking into colon cleanser companies.  So what did I find with Oxy Powder?  Not much at all.

I was unable to find any complaints about the business  or sales practices of the company.  The only ones I did see were a couple regarding the effects of the product itself (which you’ll find with almost any colon cleanser - it’s the nature of the industry).

Oxy-Powder Price

Oxy-Powder is $44.95 per bottle and you get larger discounts when you buy in higher quantities (up to $38.95 per bottle if you buy 6 or more).

Compared with other colon cleansers, this is a pretty good price.  What I really like about it is that it appears that they don’t use any shady sales practices such as autoships.

The Oxy-Powder Money Back Guarantee

oxy-powder-guaranteeOxy-Powder also has a pretty good 90-day money back guarantee.  There are a couple hoops you have to jump through, but they’re not bad.  Here’s the terms of the refund policy as stated on their website:

  • “You must contact our Returns department within 75 days of placing your order to request an RA number. All packages without an RA number will be refused.
  • You must have received a RA (Return Authorization) Number from our returns department. Please email returns@ghchealth.com or call: 800-476-0016
  • Send us all remains or unused portions of your GHC health supplement bottle including any unopened bottles that you may have purchased. Instructions for sending the product back will be sent to you along with your RA number.
  • The product must be received into our facility any time on or within 90 days from the purchase date.
  • You will be refunded the full amount of the GHC health supplement or receive a replacement product. Shipping costs will not be refunded.
  • Packages must be received with an RA number or will not be eligible for refund or replacement.
  • NOTE: RA# MUST BE BOLDLY DISPLAYED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE PACKAGE OR IT WILL BE REFUSED AND RETURNED TO YOU.”

So you need to make sure that you get an Return Authorization Number within 75 days of placing your order.  You can return both used and unopeneed bottles (not all companies do this).  And you need to make sure they can see the RA number on the return package.

They also say that if you can find a product with a “more complete formula” than they will buy it for you. Interesting.  See their website for more details.

Conclusion

Oxy-Powder takes a bit of a different angle when it comes to colon cleansing by using an oxygen based ingredient profile.  I like that this gives people an alternative to many of the high-in-fiber products on the market.  In general, the customers appear to be quite pleased with the product.

The company behind Oxy-Powder, Global Healing Center, has a solid track record and has been around for quite a while.  The BBB looks favorably upon the company, giving it a Satisfactory rating.  It is also a BBB Accredited company.    The price is reasonable and the guarantee looks to be pretty good.

If it wasn't for discovering colon cleansing, I am pretty sure I would not feel and look as healthy as I do today. Great article.

Okay, so, I am sort of new to this colon cleansing craze, but from what I have read, I feel like it may be the best solution for me. Thanks.
